You no longer need to live in the US to try Spotify paid podcasts. Spotify and Anchor launched a subscription to the 33 new market podcasts during next week. A total of 29 markets have access today (November 17), including Britain, Australia and Hong Kong. Listeners in Austria, Canada, France and Germany have to wait until November 22.
The system remains the same. Podcasters can charge additional fees to open special or ad-free episodes, offering initial access and vice versa offer benefits to listeners who are willing to pay. Manufacturers store all income from basic transaction costs up to 2023, with Spotify taking a piece of five percent afterwards.
This can be expanded. Apple added a paid subscription to its podcast application in May, and made it available in 170 countries and regions. Spotify effectively submit customers to Apple in the fields where it does not have paid options. Although it is unclear that this paid membership represents the flow of large income, Spotify may not want to take risks.
