After the first serious Foray became an e-commerce last summer, Twitter has begun to test new direct shopping experiences. This feature basically allows users to watch broadcasts and stores at the same time. The first direct shopping streaming will debut on November 28 at 19:00 ET when Walmart held Livestream-themed Mayori Major with Jason Derulo. The songwriter will spend about 30 minutes talking about various products, including electronics and home decor.
“Livestreaming on Twitter gives a business strength to engage with their most influential fans, and add the ability to shop in this experience is a natural extension to attract and draw with receptive viewers,” Twitter said about features.
Twitter has also begun to test “shopping managers” which he said would help with the onboarding experience of traders. In addition, the company expands the availability of “store modules.” First announced in July, this tool allows brands and business to add South Korea to their profile that can highlight product choices. For weeks, the company said it would launch a feature for more traders in the US.
Compared to other social media platforms, Twitter has been slow to embrace and add e-commerce features. The fact that the company now adds a number of shopping features that show it see e-e-e-ecommerce as a big part of the future.
