NBC’s six-year Premier League deal will keep some matches on Peacock

You may have to continue using Peacock if you want to stream the Premier League game. As Bloomberg Notes, NBCUNIniversal has signed a six-year contract to keep it as an official US Premier League broadcast partner. This arrangement provides access to NBC sports to all 380 matches every season up to 2028. This pact also provides NBC rights for Spanish coverage.

Both of them did not say how this would affect the coverage of Peacock. However, the Premier League highlights Peacock as a platform that can reach “every home” with internet access. NBC Sports became a Premier League American partner in 2013 and will have an agreement that exists until May 2022.

There is a real chance of Peacock will continue to flow a lot (though not all) from the game. Bloomberg shows that the Premier League match has become one of the few reliable audience sources for beginner services – an updated deal can make them watch and get out of rival hands such as ESPN, which makes an offer for the Premier League rights. It can also encourage free Merak users to the premium level which is currently needed to watch online league matches.

Extensions will not shine you if you are looking for more ways to drain Chelsea, Liverpool and other top flight teams. However, at least provide some consistency if you have become a Peacock user or happy to watch on various other platforms.
